Welcome to Pleasant Point Primary

Tēnā koutou, kia ora koutou, katoa. A very warm welcome to Pleasant Point Primary School’s website - a great place for parents and visitors to learn about our students and to share in their learning and the exciting things happening here at Point Primary.

Our school whakatauki is: I nga ara tawhito, he rohe hou - From old pathways, towards new landmarks.

For over 150 years there has been exciting teaching and learning happening here at Point. Today we have over 280 tamariki/children from Years 1-8 enjoying rich learning experiences in and around our kura/school - in great modern classrooms and across our amazing expansive grounds.

Our school vision is: A head and heart for learning and life. A backpack for the journey.

This vision for learning drives everything we do - a rich local curriculum that includes alps to ocean camps, sports, arts and leadership opportunities as well as structured and engaging literacy, numeracy and topic studies. We are in our third year of a schoolwide structured literacy approach and we are particularly proud of our investment and development in this area.

Our community consultation in 2023 reinforced that our community supports our school CARE values = Curious, Awesome, Respectful and Engaged. These values underpin our learning and personal development at Point Primary school and we are constantly working to make them explicit to our students and to support them in the development of our values.

To support the development of the whole child and to ensure our ākonga/students have the best possible education, we have a team of hardworking, dedicated, highly-skilled teachers and support staff.

We endeavour to develop worthy citizens of the future, equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for positive involvement in the community.

At the place where the rivers meet - Pleasant Point, we are excited about our learning, our tamariki and our kura/school. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or wish to learn more.

Ngā manaakitanga,
